With a top line up
with Jorge Roeder on bass and Eric Doob
on drums, Gabriel Guerrero brings a unique force of fresh approaches to
the jazz idiom with an extensive search on rhythms from South America,
specially from Colombia and a new perspective on the trio format. The
repertorie for the trio has been crafted on the last years with diverse
vews from Popular songs from Colombia, influenced by the tradition of jazz
including the music by Bud Powell and a piece by Colombian composer
Lucho Bermudez arranged initially for solo piano with influcences by
Charles Ives.
The Trio manages to
cross phats between all these places with explosive and organic
music.
