Surca: spanish for the verb
to forrow, was an inspirational name and a vehicle for Gabriel Guerrero's
project a mutual colaboration with saxophonist/composer Daniel
Blake both students of Steve Lacy and
Danilo Perez. Surca began its journey in Boston in 2002
with a diverse repertorie influenced by the jazz tradition, the
Avant-Garde and South-American rhythms. The band had Jorge
Roeder on bass, and Jorge Perez Albela on drums.
Other guests included bassist Edward Perez, and drummers
Richie Barshay and Pedro Ito . Surca performed through
New England including a weekly residence at the Green St Grill. Audios
